Fabinho turned down both Manchester clubs and PSG to join Liverpool after Jurgen Klopp challenged him to become a Reds regular.
The Brazilian has more than justified his £39m fee having moved from Monaco last summer.
Fabinho had a host of Europe’s elite chasing his signature after he impressed during Monaco’s title winning season in 2017.
But when he sat down in Klopp the German showed him exactly how he would fit into the Liverpool XI and from then on he was sold.
“Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United , Manchester City and Juventus also talked to his agent, but it was Liverpool that made all the effort to sign him,” Ricardo Assis, Fabinho’s brother-in-law, told the Telegraph.
“Klopp showed him videos of the team, explained why he wanted to sign him but he also made it clear that it wouldn’t be straightforward for him to be a regular starter from the beginning….
